Welcome to the Northwest Classical Guitar Society website!

Welcome! Formed to promote and boost both performance of and listening to classical guitar music, the NWCGS meets the third Tuesday of each month at Bellingham Unitarian Fellowship. We welcome anyone who is interested in classical guitar whether you play or not. Please join us.

Membership Our annual fee is $35. which covers our rent at BUF and allows us to fund occasional recitals from guest artists. Using PayPal, you can pay annual dues at once or over the course of the year. Contributions can be made here.

Management Founded in 1990, the society which until recently met at Bellingham Public Library Fairhaven Branch, managed just fine without formal administration. Volunteers take on tasks like production of this WebPage, and it’s maintenance. 

Meetings are run casually but structured around the monthly notice that goes out by email. The email includes a request for performers to write in what they would like to perform, and that precedes our meeting. A program is circulated also by email the evening of the meeting. And we offer Zoom capability which through Covid expanded our audience and membership. The Zoom link can be found here. 

Recitals happen on an irregular basis. Admission is determined when that event is being scheduled and sometimes classes are offered by the artist as well. The society has also sponsored concerts that happen at venues other than the BUF.
